Question: Why is AD 34 viewed as the most singular year in Nephite history?
Answer: In AD 34 the resurrected Lord appeared to teach and bless the people of the Americas. The account of His visit is the centerpiece of the Book of Mormon. Thirty-seven pages in the Book of Mormon were written about the events of AD 34. No other year in Nephite history received such attention by ancient scribes.
“Jesus Christ did show himself unto the people of Nephi, as the multitude were gathered in the land Bountiful, and did minister unto them; and on this wise did he show himself unto them. Comprising chapters 11 to 26 inclusive.”
